A not so bad day

I was going to get up and take some new pics of the sword this morning, but was too busy. Went shopping this morning and didn't buy anything but something for dinner. This afternoon I was supposed to meet up with a friend, but she couldn't make it. So I went and paid off one bill, and made a payment on the one doctor bill. Yippee.

I swung around to see my best friend this afternoon and spent a couple hours with her and her kids. After they got home from school. They had all been sick and two of them still were. I hope they breathed on my enough so I can get sick and not have to work tomorrow. hehe. It was nice to be able to set and talk with them again, and got a couple new pictures of them. And the hugs I got were pretty good too.

So, today didn't turn out to be too bad of a day. At one point I was so bored the guy at the hobby shop and I were making up stories about the people walking past his front window. Now i'm home to set in front of the TV for a while. The best day i've had since last tuesday I think.

Late b-day gifts

This morning when I went to work I was not expecting much, but the usual same old stuff. But that thought changed before I got out of the truck. Just after I got parked, the friend that parked in front of me was standing at my door with a little blue bag in her had. In it was a card and a t-shirt with a dragon on it. Cool.

Then after I got inside one of the guys asked me if I still wanted what I tried to talk him out of a couple weeks ago. This was the guy I made mention of one time that had the big collection of stuff in his apartment, including all the swords and knives. I said yes and after waiting for him to finish cleaning up after we finished working I gave him a ride home. And now I have a nice dragon head Katana sword hanging on my wall.

A crappy b-day to me

Or is that happy.......Depending on which part of the day. The part where it rained and/or stormed hard all day. The part where the power went out and I was trying to write and draw, and do TV crossword puzzles by candle light. A friend at work took me to Taco Bell for lunch. And i did get to see my best friend's youngest daughter and get a hug from her. So, the day wasn't all bad.

It was interesting

Today turned out to be not so boring as it normally would have been. I hung out with a friend for a couple hours and talked about drawing and photos and life in general. It was pretty cool.

Other than that, today was pretty much boring. I watched a couple shows on the tv tonight. Checked out part of that new Supernatural show while watching House. Still not sure if I will check out the new Night stalker series when it starts next week, I think thats when it starts any way. Its supposed to be on at the same time as CSI.

I should be in bed right now, so I can get up on time to go to hell tomorrow. What boredom that will be. For the most part any way. Maybe on lunch i'll wander over to the halloween store for a bit. They were unloading a bunch of boxes from the back of a truck the day my truck broke down last week so maybe they'll have something more interesting in there. Last time I was there I looked at what was supposed to be a pulsating heart, at least that was what the package said. Which was okay, but it had no sound that I could tell. Why bother having a heart if it makes no sound???

Going to be a good day......

If all goes well that is. Normally I would be setting around doing nothing today, but I got plans for later. Hopefully they won't change.

Got the truck fixed saturday. Now I got to work on my shifting all over again. Now the clutch is more touchy than it used to be. Before I had to let it half way out before the thing even thought of rolling, now I barely have to let it up and its going whether i'm ready for it or not. But thats okay.

Between the cost of the slave cylinder for the clutch and the filling of the gas tank I blew my whole halloween fund....and more. But I have time yet. Don't even have enough to do anything for myself for my b-day this thursday. Oh well. Not the first time......

Truck parts

Driving through town yesterday, of course it had to be right downtown, the clutch went out of my truck. And now we are waiting until Friday for the new part to show up so we can fix it. Didn't matter that I didn't go to work today, it was going to be a short day anyway.

And now the money I had saved to go towards halloween and my b-day next thursday is going into my truck. Oh well. First real major problem I had since I got it. And not bad for a cheap truck.

Halloween again

Finally opened the Halloween USA store around here the other day. Its just a couple blocks from where I work. Which is a good thing. I picked up a skull there on monday, which for now sets on my drawing table. This morning I picked up a black light bulb and a light up skull outline that I am going to hang on my wall. Thinking of decorating one end of my room this year.

For the most part I don't know what I am doing this year. I looked at a velvet hooded jacket thing for a vampire costume. But i'm also thinking of doing something with a dead biker theme. Either way it has to be something bloody.

Monday again

Well, now that the weekend is over, i'm not looking forward to this week. I'm already bored and i've only been up for a little over an hour. But around here there is nothing to do and nowhere to go. So boredom is a normal thing.

Got on to check my email and didn't get anything but junk. I was wondering if I was going to hear something from someone, but it didn't happen. Oh well. No biggee.

Not much else to say this morning. Just haven't woke up yet I guess. Probably should go set at the drawing table for a bit before I leave, but so far there is no inspiration to do so.

Oakley bike run

This is a pic of my cousin's bike. I took this at the annual oakley bike run. My other cousin was riding it this year. There is probably at least 200 bikes the next block over from here, and more coming in and going out all the time.

I rode this bike a few months ago. My cousin had to get it out of his trailer so he could get ready to go to a bike show and he said he would fire it up if I wanted to take it around the yard. Gee.....hard decision there. I never drove a bike with a side car before, and the grass was still kind of wet at the time, so steering this beast around the yard, which is not flat, was a trip.

I took almost 70 pics at this show. More than I took last year I think. I probably could have taken a lot more, but I decided to come home and rest before the race comes on. All the walking I did today, not sure how many miles I may have walked, my left knee is pretty sore. And, as usual, I got the sunburn to prove I was out in the heat and sun most of the day.

Car show

Had a great time at the car show. Went by myself. One of the gals that was going to go called to say she wasn't feeling good. The other one wasn't even sure she would go, and I didn't feel like waiting around 3 hours to when I was supposed to maybe meet up with her, so I left. By the time I would have been waiting around to see if she showed I was already an hour into the show.

The girl in this photo was selling calendars. She was kind enough to pose for me. Then I bought a calendar, which has a few pictures of her in it wearing a bikini, which she autographed for me. So that was cool.

I was at this show about 4 hours and still didn't see all of it. I took over 90 pictures. And there were still cars coming in when I left. It took me about 20 minutes to walk back to where I parked the truck, I didn't feel like waiting for the shuttle bus that was getting full. And when I got back to the lot where I parked the truck, the bus was just pulling in. So, either way I would have left about the same time.

Collecting

One of the guys at work invited me to his apartment to look at some of the stuff he collects. He had so much stuff piled on top of stuff it was hard to find room to move in there. He did have a lot of knives and swords that were pretty cool. The one sword I had to use both hands to hold it. He even had some stuff that I wouldn't have ever thought of collecting, mostly in the trading card piles. He couldn't even find the box that had the cards in that he wanted to show me, that he said if he had doubles of I could have. He did give me some cool old pin up cards that he had two or three of, with art by Gil Evgren, or however you spell his name. That was cool.

If I had as much stuff as he has I wouldn't have much room around here. He said he has lists of everything he has, but he couldn't find that either. I offered to walk out with his one katana sword, but he said if I did he would have to hunt me down.

Not much else to say tonight. Can't even say anything about the weird gal at work, because I didn't get to laugh at.......I mean talk to her much today. Now I am off to wait for the start of the truck race and the footbal game.

Being "nice"

The comment was made today that you have to be nice to people you work with. Why? Its not like I give a crap about most of them. And I don't really care what they think of me. I made a promise to my dark angel one time that I would be "nice" to people, whther they deserved it or not. But then she told me that if I couldn't keep that promise it was no big deal. And its the only promise I have ever broken.

I don't know if a certain person will read this or not, but I was supposed to make mention of a weird gal at work. But what to say. I suppose I could mention her dancing, or at least i think that was what she was attempting. How she kept smiling and laughing most of the day when she wasn't looking at me like she was wanting to gut me like a fish. She told me I might feel better about my non life if I wasn't so shy. Me? Shy? I tried to say that one time and the ones I told that too laughed at me.

Busy weekend

For the most part I didn't do too much this weekend, but I did manage to move a few more things around. I finally got through the mess of books and stuff thats been on the floor for the last few days. Most of the books and magazines went into boxes. I stacked a few things on shelves, and rearranged some other stuff. And now my desk in the other room actually looks like a desk, and not a place to pile stuff. It was covered with paper, sticky notes, stuff I keep in my pockets, bills, camera, and underneath a few things there was even some candy from last christmas that I forgot about.

Monday I got a few other things gone through, in between watching drag racing. I had thought about taking some new pics, but didn't get to it. Maybe some day i'll do that when I come up with a new idea. This morning I got some pictures edited, burned a DVD, messed with a couple old computers, went through a couple other boxes, did some crossword puzzles, and got lunch made before noon.
