All is somewhat well

First i want to say thanks to Mary for being the only one to comment on the last rant I posted here, and also posted other places, and sent out in a few emails. I have been checking out a few other ideas, but can't afford to get into anything new right now. So, I have spent the last few days doing more writing and setting at the drawing table working on a couple things that were requested from friends.

I had been feeling a bit low lately. But i'm over that. No problems. Just as I promised my.....um.....friend the other day. She kept asking me what was wrong, I was so quiet. More than normal. But nothing was wrong, it was just one of those days where I wasn't really paying attention to too much, especially my own thoughts and inner demons. She got me smiling again for a while and I haven't thought of too much other than that the last two days.

Glad to hear things are a little bit better. And you are very welcome. I know how it is, sometimes you just need someone to throw out ideas at and get some sort of response to them. I'm here if you ever want to talk.
So what are you drawing?

Right now i'm working on a Betty Boop for my best friend's mother. And I also have a new self portrait that I am trying to figure out what to do with, or if i'm going to go in a different direction than what I started with. And for the last three weeks or so i've been working on a personal project that is kind of a half black/half red heart, with chains and whatever. I'm not sure how that one will turn out, i've already changed the look of it four times.

Sounds cool. My husband is a drawer too. He drew then painted a dragon for me sometime ago. He has an entire folder of stuff he's started then stopped, cause he doesn't know how to finish it. I love looking at his little scribbles cause most times even though he hates them , I really think there cool.

I have piles of stuff I never finished. Or gave much thought too once I actually started it. Yeah, a lot of times i'll think what I am doing is crap, but the few people I have shown it to say its so cool. I haven't even shown much stuff to my parents in a long time because most of the time all they would say was "uh huh" and not much else. I showed an early version of my heart drawing to a girl at work and she said it was cool...but really morbid. Which is okay too.

I haven't drawn a dragon in a long time. I did one about 4 or 5 years ago for my best friend. I had it setting next to a crystal ball and I put her sons face in it. But it didn't turn out as I had hoped it would, so she didn't recognize it at first until i told her who it was.

My mom usually has the same response to anything I do, creatively. If their not into it then their not likely to be excited by it. I try really hard not to be like that when my daughter brings home art type stuff for me to look at. She sure did inherit her father's talent for art and drawing.
Cool but morbid...lol that's a nice description..I like that. I've always wanted to be able to draw, but my pictures come out looking like something a 2 year old drew. lol

I read a thing once about how anyone can draw, and that drawing a self portrait is a good way to do it, because its the hardest thing to do. Or something like that. I told that to my pen pal in japan, who told me she couldn't draw anything, and she drew a self portrait in colored pencil that looked a lot like her. I only know a couple people around here any more that like to draw, so i don't really have anyone to talk to about it. And the ones I do know, I hardly hear from.

well when I say I can't draw I mean it. lol My stuff comes out looking like stick figure people. lol No clothes, just arms and legs. lol I guess I'm more crafty than artsy. I like to make things homemade.
