The Writing desk

There is an old desk that has been in my room for many years. It belongs to my mother. I even tore it apart once to make some room, but then put it back together after a while. Its a simple little thing, but its a good desk.

I cleaned it off again tonight. I tell myself all the time I am going to use it more, writing in my journals, writing other stuff. I think I have set there twice in the last two months or so. I tend to throw all my magazines and scraps of paper and stuff on it until its buried and there is no space on it to set a notebook and scribble anything.

So, once again I clean it off telling myself i'm going to use it more. And yet, I am setting here, instead of setting there. Its a never ending thing, and i'm sure within the next couple of days I will have started a new pile on the thing. Unless, this time, I can keep it clean.

It's easy to start piling things on unused desks, tables, spots on the t.v. I do it myself. But I have a spot here on the computer desk that I never put anything on, except my notepad, I write all the things I need to rememeber in it. It's always there where I left it. You just need to tell yourself that you aren't going to put anything on the desk and make yourself sit and write at the desk. The more you do it, the easier it will be to keep doing it.
